Event Outline

Unit One

Self care is a crucial element in stress and anxiety reduction. What is self care?

It means having a plan to do activities which enhance your health and well being on a daily basis. Replenishing your body, mind and soul in effort to prevent burnout. Every individual's plan is unique, but there are some common areas including the following.

Many people make excuses for not doing self care, mainly that they do not have time. They may risk feeling emotionally drained, tired and irritable without self care.

Think of self care as the airplane mask warning from the flight attendant. When an emergency happens on a plane, the mask drops. You are instructed to help yourself to the oxygen first and then help others. You cannot help others breathe without breathing yourself.

"You can't pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first."

Unit Two

Physical self care is one area which can be addressed daily. The following are ideas for your physical well being plan.
