Public speaking is a skill in constant development for Sheila Owen LCSW. It created anxiety for Sheila or many years but she has learned to relax with it. College and graduate school two times gave the opportunity to present to the class on various wellness topics.

In 2016, a colleague and mentor from the organization TranSeed recommended that Sheila participate in ToastMasters, a global public speaking club. Within the membership, Sheila fine tunes all aspects of public speaking including tone of voice, topic selection and intonation. She has applied to some conferences in 2020 and hopes to speak abroad in 2021. Here are some of the speaking engagements Sheila Owen has accomplished:
